Low Energy House Dublin
Due to the excessive cost of upgrading and renovating the existing house it proved more cost effective to demolish the existing house and replace it with a new low energy house to passive house standard. The house has achieved an air tightness of 0.6 air changes per hour and includes heat recovery system which recycles 80% of the space heating. The house also contains a solar water heating system and rainwater harvesting with a UV filter which purifies the water for the use of bathing purposes. This recycles 80% of the water consumption. The house was constructed using passive slab foundation with a timber frame building achieving 0.1w/sqm on floor, wall and ceilings. Hint!
