Garden Room Extension

Simon Hoe's client wanted to extend their home without compromising their enjoyment of their garden. To achieve this, Simon designed a garden room, which was sunken to increase the presence of the small garden in the house.

In order to maintain natural light to the original dining room, the old external wall of the dining room was moved out, and roof-lights incorporated above. This, with a full height inset corner window creates a controlled view of planting and natural lighting effects which continually respond with changes in the sky.
