When was the work done?
In May 2005.

How did you choose Simon Hoe?
Simon was recommended to me by an engineer.

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Simon?
We have definite requirements. For example, we needed extra living space. And we didn't like the positioning of the stairs, which were directly in front of the front door.

Did Simon Hoe introduce new ideas?
Yes, Simon took all our requirements and came up with his own suggestions.

What was the project process - day to day?
Before building started there was a couple of revisions of the design. Then, we retained Simon for the actual building work. I would definitely recommend doing that as he can communicate with the builders better than a layman. And if you want to change anything during building, it's good to be able to sound off your ideas on Simon before talking to the builders.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using Simon Hoe?
We liked his design. And we had a good relationship with him. We just hit it off from the beginning.

What's your favourite part now?
The kitchen and living room. I like the layout and the light.

Would you recommend Simon Hoe to others?
Yes, absolutely.

Have you any tips for other people?
Choose your windows early and make sure you get the ones that you want. It's difficult to change them once building is underway.
