Attic Conversion To Office
Customer reference for About Space as told to pickapro by Bernard Mason from Balbriggan on 05-Nov-2008
When was the work done?
In July 2008.
What was involved?
An attic conversion - we divided the area into two rooms, a small office area and a larger general purpose area.
How did you choose About Space?
I saw their ad in the Golden Pages. David Fearn came out and gave an excellent presentation, definitely the best presentation we saw. Their price was quite good too.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Patrick O'Keefe?
I would say that I had decided on about 80% of what I wanted and I picked their brains on the rest.
Did Patrick introduce new ideas?
He did yes. One thing he suggested was a different style in window. These windows are hinged from the top rather than the middle so they don't open out in the attic. They actually open out over the roof which means you don't bang your head on them.
How did the project run?
Very well. I was very pleased with the workmanship and their reliability.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using About Space?
The biggest benefit for me was that one of workers lived nearby and he was able to work on later than normal.
What's your favourite part now?
The windows - I'm not banging my head on them!
Would you recommend About Space to others?
Absolutely, I already have them. They've already got two jobs based on my recommendation.
Any tips for other people?
If you're on a tight budget, give yourself a little bit of contingency on your budget, maybe 500euro, just in case you want to make a small change like the size of windows or sockets once the work starts.
And forget about dusting for a week. If you're extremely houseproud, you have to accept that there'll be a bit of upheaval.
