When was the work done?
The work was completed in 2007.

What was involved?
It was a fairly extensive project. It involved a ground floor extension of my kitchen and sitting room. In addition, Aidan renovated the garage and washroom areas.

How did you choose A Gilligan Builders?
Our architect recommended Aidan to us. We had met with quite a few builders but we felt that Aidan was willing to work with us and he was very accommodating. The other builders wanted us to move out of the house while the work was being done but Aidan arranged to set things up so that we could stay. To Aidan it was no problem. We moved into the sitting room while the work was being carried out and Aiden transferred what we needed from the kitchen so that we could still cook. It was fantastic!

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Aidan Gilligan?
We did, yes. Our architect drew up the plans and Aidan worked from those.

Did Aidan introduce new ideas?
He did. Aidan made a very good suggestion with relation to the pitch of our roof. We had a situation whereby the garage and utility roof if built a certain way would darken our neighbour's property. Aidan made an excellent suggestion to keep the roof at its lowest pitch so as not to inconvenience our neighbours. It worked out very well.

How did the project run?
Great. Aidan was very reliable, accommodating, worked clean and the quality of the extension was excellent.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using A Gilligan Builders?
Aidan is very sincere, trustworthy and nice to deal with.

What's your favourite part now?
My kitchen extension. Not only has it brought in additional space which was the main object but light as well. It had previously been a dark kitchen and now it's lovely to sit in. It has really made a huge difference.

Would you recommend A Gilligan Builders to others?
Absolutely, I would have no hesitation.

Any tips for other people?
Shopping around to find the right builder is very important but I think you know deep down when you find the right person. When you do, choose them and go into everything. Ask as many questions as possible to make sure that you understand exactly what is going on.
