B&B Renovation
Customer reference for KS Construction as told to pickapro by Padraig Sweeney from Drumcondra, Dublin 9 on 19-Dec-2007
When was the work done?
The work was done between January and February, 2007.
What was involved?
We own a B&B and it needed renovation work done so as to meet fire regulations. We had an architect draw up plans to submit to a fire officer and hired Kevin to handle the building
work needed to bring us up to scratch.
How did you choose KS Construction?
I had heard about Kevin from a friend of his, a very finicky fellow who likes things to be done properly. He wouldn't recommend anyone unless he was sure of their quality.
He told me Kevin was very good and finishes his jobs well.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Kevin Stanley?
That didn't apply in this situation. As far as the fire certification, the work needed to be carried out exactly as per the architects' plans to pass inspection.
Did Kevin introduce new ideas?
In this case, having to follow the architects' plans, it wasn't necessary.
How did the project run?
Excellent. In order to open in time for business we had a strict deadline to get the work finished.
The schedule was going to be tight and it was tough work, but it got done and done on time.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using KS Construction?
The quality of Kevin's work and his flexibility. If we wanted to make changes, that was OK. Kevin delivered the job as we wanted it done. Another benefit is the fact that if I need him to do little jobs here and there, he's available.
Would you recommend KS Construction to others?
Yes, absolutely.
Any tips for other people?
It's important to keep in mind that the building work being done is only a portion of the total cost. Leave some money in the budget for furnishing, decorating and any other incidentals that may come up.
