Downstairs Renovation

When was the work done?
The work was started on the 17th of April, 2009 and lasted three weeks.

What was involved?
The whole ground floor of my house was renovated. The bathroom, dining room and stairs were taken out and relayed in a different foremat.

How did you choose KS Construction?
It was on the recommendation of a plumber that I use. He said that there were 3 builders he could recommend, kevin being one of them. He told me that Kevin would not be the cheapest but that he took a lot of pride in his work and could provide a turnkey solution. He said that with Kevin that there would be nothing left over to do at the end of the project. When I met Kevin I found him to be very genuine and professional.

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Kevin Stanley?
We had a couple of basic ideas on what we wanted to do but kevin said a few of them wouldn't work and he suggested alternatives. We went with kevin's plans because of practical reasons and because Kevin's ideas opened up the downstairs and gave us more space.

Did Kevin introduce new ideas?
He did, yes. We had looked at putting the bathroom in a particular place and we weren't sure what to do about the stairs. Kevin suggested that the stairs should face one direction and that the bathroom should be under the stairs.

How did the project run?
Perfect. We were away on honeymoon for three weeks and left Kevin with the keys to the house. Kevin said he would have the job finished by the time we got back and he did. He managed everything from start to finish. We had held back some money for the end, like you're supposed to for a snag list but there was nothing that needed to be done. The job came in exactly on budget.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using KS Construction?
We just felt that from day one that we could trust Kevin to do what he said he would do. After Kevin had given us a quote for the original work, we bought a new cooker and wooden flooring. Kevin installed both for us at no additional charge. We were very surprised!

What's your favourite part now?
The house looks natural as if no separate project was done. Everything blends in and it looks as if that's the way it always was.

Would you recommend KS Construction to others?
Yes, absolutely. In fact we have him coming back to do additional work for us.
