When was the work done?
It started Jan 10th 2011 and it took about 8 weeks.

What was involved?
It involved a downstairs renovation with a kitchen extension. An interior wall was also knocked down to make room for a utility room. The downstairs bathroom and stairs were replaced as well. Apart from the kitchen fitting, KS Construction did the entire build - floors, electrics, plumbing, everything. They landscaped the garden for us as well which was excellent. They got a lot done in 8 weeks.

How did you choose KS Construction?
I found Kevin on pickapro.ie. I had these ideas in my mind about renovating and was just idly trawling online hoping for inspiration. I came across pickapro and liked the look of Kevin. He seemed to have done something similar to what we wanted to do.

When we met Kevin we liked him. We found him very professional, very easy to talk to and very enthusiastic. It was the enthusiasm really that won us over. We asked Kevin and another builder to quote. Kevin's quotation was slightly less than the other builders but the main difference was that Kevin's quote was just so detailed and so comprehensive. It was his personal approach that impressed both my husband and myself!

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Kevin Stanley?
I didn't know how to go about what we were doing, so before I even got an architect I talked to Kevin. And after that we got an architect to draw up plans.

Did Kevin introduce new ideas?
Kevin had a lot of ideas that would give us more light and better use of the space. He made different suggestions about how the roof should be done, and the windows, and also about the interior layout. And even as the work progressed, Kevin was full of ideas, and well prepared to discuss them, and any cost implications were well detailed out.

How did the project run?
The workmanship was excellent and the reliability was excellent. They never missed a day, and every day we could see progress. It actually worked out very well because they were a very efficient team, very friendly and very easy to have around. They cleaned up every day and cleaned up at the end. It came in on schedule too. It was very smooth and easy really.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using KS Construction?
I found Kevin and his team honest, reliable, approachable. They were efficient. And everything I wanted done, was done. Kevin was always contactable. He was here every day and his team were here every day. There was communications at all times which was so important to us.

What's your favourite part now?
The kitchen, I'm just in love with it. The kitchen used to be a dark, dreary place with the light on all day. Now, it's just so bright and airy and efficient.

Would you recommend KS Construction to others?
Absolutely, without a doubt in the world.

Any tips for other people?
Think about about what you really want to gain. We really wanted light, a utility room and a downstairs bathroom. We got that and we've got back so much more than what we paid for. Then, the other advice is go to Kevin!
