Customer reference for building, converting services as told to pickapro by Hugh MacManus from Phibsboro, Dublin 7 on 07-Aug-2009
When was the work done?
April, May 2009.
What was involved?
It was a total renovation, the house had to be stripped down and redone from the ground up - Killasolan put in new floors and new double doors, replastered the walls, drylined and insulated everything.I wanted the house to be left ready for rent and I didn't want anything to do with it myself.
How did you choose Killasolan Construction?
I was on pickapro.ie and just going by the testimonials of other people, I picked out Larry. I called him up and his price was keen.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Larry Clarke?
Absolutely not, it was first time I've ever done anything like this, so I hadn't got a clue. Larry was very helpful, no doubt about it.
Did Larry introduce new ideas?
Yes, all kinds. Some of it was basics like getting the house insulated properly. He felt the floors downstairs were very poor, so he improved all that. We left most of the details to him. For example, he picked the doors and they were perfect. He got the painting done himself too.
How did the project run?
It worked very well. The quality was spot on. Looking back, I can't see anything to complain about.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Killasolan Construction?
It was basically how little I had to know about what was going on once it got started. Anything that was needed, Larry gave me a call and explained to me what he was doing, but I didn't have to do anything.
Would you recommend Killasolan Construction to others?
I certainly would, yes. If I was doing it again, I wouldn't even put it out to tender or look for anybody else, I was very happy with Killasolan.
Any tips for other people?
To get it properly surveyed before you start, so you know everything you have to do.
