Rear Extension
Customer reference for Rainsford Builders as told to pickapro by Geard Corcoran from Whitehall, Dublin 9 on 27-Feb-2007
When was the work done?
It commenced last year at the end of February 2006 and finished three months later.
What was involved?
We added an extension to the rear of the house. We also had a bathroom remodelled and a utility room built.
How did you choose Eddie Rainsford?
We heard about them from a relative of ours, who had got some work done by them.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Eddie Rainsford?
We did yes, we had a lot of homework done before we spoke to them.
Did Eddie introduce new ideas?
Yes, He was able to say if any of our suggestions were easy to do or hard to do. We did have one idea about the roof that would have probably cost us a lot more to do. He had a simpler idea, which we went with and it turned out to be fine.
How did the project run, schedule-wise?
Fine - they were here every single day.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Eddie Rainsford?
If there was a problem or we had a question as we were going along, they dealt with it. Or even if there was an alteration - it wasn't a problem. Everything could be sorted out.
What's your favourite part now?
Over all we are extremely happy with the job. The room now has become a family room and we're in it all the time. We were delighted with it the way it turned out because we are using it every single day, which was the reason for doing it in the first place.
Would you recommend Eddie Rainsford to others?
Yes, no problem at all.
Any tips for other people?
Know your budget and get a detailed quote from any builder, because there's quite a bit of little bits and pieces and all those bits and pieces add up.
Also, the Irish are not very good at making sure people are insured, we just assume people are insured. I would be conscious of that.
