Extension, Attic Conversion
Customer reference for Rainsford Builders as told to pickapro by Cassandra Joyce from Drumcondra on 06-Nov-2007
When was the work done?
The work was done between March and August of 2007.
What was involved?
It was two jobs actually. The first was a very large, wrap around extension with a kitchen, dining area, utility room plus a new toilet and shower. The second job was an attic conversion.
How did you choose Eddie Rainsford?
Eddie was recommended to us from a neighbour he was doing some work for. We chose Eddie for that reason and the fact that he provided us a good quote for the job.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Eddie Rainsford?
Just for the extension. We already had plans drawn up.
Did Eddie introduce new ideas?
He did, yes. Eddie came up with very good ideas and plans for the attic conversion.
How did the project run?
It actually ran very well. Eddie was very good about keeping us informed throughout the entire project. No matter the situation or what was going on, we always knew where things stood.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Eddie Rainsford?
The fact that Eddie kept us informed throughout the project and that he really listens to you. Some builders can be very patronising. Eddie is helpful, flexible and accomodating, even when changes need to be made. They are very professional and we're happy with the work carried out.
What's your favourite part now?
I would have to say the kitchen. It had been such a small, little room, now it's completely opened up. It's such a big difference.
Would you recommend Eddie to others?
Without hesitation. In fact, I already have.
Any tips for other people?
Speak to lots of builders and get several quotes for the work. Try to get recommendations if you can. Choose the builder you feel you can work with and who listens to you. Communication is very important because you may be working with them over a long period of time.
