What type of work is involved?
Both installation and general electrical maintenance. Some work involves altering or upgrading systems like intercoms or lighting. Barry also does work for me personally. He did the electrical work on one house extension in 1998 and another one in 2009.

How did you choose Agar Electrical?
I've known Barry's family for years. I had a garage here on this premises and Barry's father used to bring in his car for repairs. Barry started coming by when he went into business for himself. Basically, the relationship goes way back.

Have you definite ideas in mind when you speak to Barry about a job?
Usually I would know exactly what I want done, yes.

Does Barry introduce new ideas?
He does. There are occasions where Barry will suggest something and I go along with it. For instance, on Barry's suggestion, he recommended re-wiring and setting up a more economical lighting system. The old setup was eating too much power and was very expensive. It was a good idea.

How do the projects run?
With Barry everything runs very efficiently. I've had no problems at all with his methods or himself.

What is the biggest benefit to you of using Agar Electrical and Alarms?
Accessibility. If I need Barry, he's there. When you find someone that's good, you stick with them. I haven't gone looking for anyone else but Barry for donkey's years.

Would you recommend Agar Electrical to others?
Without a doubt.

Any tips for other people?
I think a good place to go looking for good tradesmen is the builders providers. Talk to the people there, they'll know and tell you truth about whose good and bad.
