When did you start using Safehands
In 2005 or 2006.

What is involved?
SafeHands act as Health and Safety consultants for our company. That involves coming out and doing a safety audit, identifying the areas where we have issues, producing a safety system and also arranging any training which we are required to deliver by legislation.

How did you choose SafeHands?
Up to four or five years ago, Health and Safety compliance was something we were doing inhouse. It was becoming very complex and starting to strain our resources. We decided to look at the option of outsourcing to an independent consultant. We had a look online and talked to one or two guys. Noel ticked all the boxes for what we were looking for. Noel came in and he did everything - he did a walk through, he identified all the areas we had to tidy up, produced the safety statement and the training. And he did this in a fashion which was very cost effective.

Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Noel Flood?
We wanted a safety statement and we wanted to be Health and Safety compliant. Mind you, they are two very broad and sweeping statements. There's a wide range of options within that.

Did Noel introduce new ideas and input?
He did, yes. There were places where we had slipped into a grey area. Noel came along, talked to us and said what had to change.

Does Safehands deliver an efficient service?
Absolutely, we weren't very bad and there was no gun to our heads. Noel delivered what we needed quickly without being intrusively fast.

What was the biggest benefit to you of using SafeHands?
It takes the whole worry of Health and Safety away from you. Now we can put our hand on our hearts, with a clear conscience and say we are up to speed with Health and Safety matters.

I have to be honest, four years ago, I personally would have given a large amount of time to Health and Safety. It was still a worry in so far as it was becoming very complicated and you were never 100% sure that you were covering all the bases. It's absolutely wonderful now to turn around now and say that's done and dusted. Having said that, if Safehands had come back with a silly price, I'd still be doing it myself - but with Safehands it is affordable.

Would you recommend SafeHands to others?
I would indeed. Noel's very practical and he's a very easy guy to get on with.
