Apartment Fitout
Customer reference for Form Concepts as told to pickapro by Greg Ewing from Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin on 25-Feb-2008
When was the work done?
December of 2007.
What was involved?
Interior design and fitout of a 3 bedroom apartment for rental. It was a new apartment, so we were starting from scratch. It was an unusually shaped apartment so Form Concepts sourced a lot of bespoke items such as handmade lockers for the bedroom and a custom made walnut sofa bed. All the soft furnishings including headboards, lampshades and curtains were made to order. Our living room is right at the top of the stairs so they also built a wall made of architectural glass by the stairs to prevent accidents. Travestine marble floors were laid throughout the apartment and a breakfast bar was built in the kitchen.
How did you choose Form Concepts?
I had been thinking of selling the apartment and then decided to rent it. Form Concepts were recommended to me by the
manager of the estate agents that I had talked to initially about the sale.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Yvonne?
Yes.
Did introduce new ideas?
Very much so. I had a general idea but I was very much looking for her input for themes and colour schemes and so forth.
How did the project run?
Good. On a personal level, Yvonne is fantastic to deal with.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Form Concepts?
Definitely the time saving on my part. Yvonne organised all the furniture and arranged to be there for all deliveries
I also know that I saved a whole lot of money by going through Yvonne because she has the contacts in the trade.
What's your favourite part now?
I just like the overall design - the finished product. I had a vision for the apartment and Yvonne fulfilled that.
Would you recommend Form Concepts to others?
Absolutely, yes.
Any tips for other people?
Certainly, I would say to use an interior designer. The professionals have the contacts in the trade and they'll save you time and money.
