Bloom Medal Winner 2011
The Bloom garden is simply called The Orb - A space for celebration. As the name suggested, this garden was created for celebrating with friends and family in circles of interleaving social spaces, features and planting. At the heart of this garden is the Orb. Inspired by Chinese lanterns, it's the bright space at the center of any party. The Orb offers secluded seating, enticing patterns of light and glimpses of the surrounding lush planting. To the left stands a lustrous copper beech. To the right, a Kilkenny limestone circle with a hand crafted stone barbecue. A curve of hedging floats through water and stepping-stones lead into the main garden. In the background, the pale leaves of a Tulip tree catch the light. We got together with Glenisk at Bloom 2011.
