Modern Garden, Dundrum
Customer reference for Greenstone Landscapes as told to pickapro by James O' Keeffe from Dundum, Dublin 16 on 20-Mar-2009
When was the work done?
In Autumn 2008.
What was involved?
Greenstone first relandscaped our back garden. This involved laying a patio and paths as well as building columns at the left and a water feature which also screens the garden shed. He put in a raised flower bed on one side that we could use for seating and planted a lot of olive trees and some box hedging. It's a modern style.
When Ross finished the back garden I asked him to do the front garden because we were so pleased with what they did at the back.
How did you choose Greenstone Landscapes?
We had always wanted to get someone to do the garden so we decided to do a search on the internet. Of all the gardens we saw online, we liked Ross's gardens best. I gave him a ring, he came out and we went from there.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Ross Farrell?
We hadn't any ideas at all! The garden was always just a big patch as we had the two dogs. We really just wanted something low maintenance - a garden we could use for sitting out and having barbecues.
Did Ross introduce new ideas?
Ross came up with great ideas. We had just got an extension done on the house and he wanted the garden to reflect the feel of the extension which is open plan and modern. They did a computer drawing of the design first.
How did the project run?
They were very good. They used to arrive early, at half seven or eight o' clock in the morning. When they finished they cleaned up everything. They took every care and the workmanship was very good.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Greenstone Landscapes?
Ross had all the contacts, he knew where to get the best stone and other materials. There was no delays on anything. When Ross said something he was always there, he always turned up on time.
What's your favourite part now?
It's just the overall look really. It's a modern garden. I think it's great. Even people going past have complimented it, and I've had two people knocking on the door asking about the garden.
Would you recommend Greenstone Landscapes to others?
I would, I've recommended them to loads of people already.
Any tips for other people?
I'm sorry we didn't do it sooner. And I'd recommend getting it all done at once, it's less hassle and turns out better.
