Outdoor Lounge
An unloved back garden was what faced this new owner of a terraced city cottage. Living in a city centre location the garden was to be an integral part of daily life. Our client asked that we create a social space that would easily accommodate upwards of eight people for summer bar b que’s. It must also feel like a room to sit and read the weekend papers in too. She was very pleased with the result and could not believe she actually has so much space. The birds are back chirping in the shrubbery and that is a lovely sound in the city. Hint!  Before A tumbledown shed had taken up most of the sunniest portion of the dual height garden and the decking was in such bad repair and was positively dangerous to walk on, so, we had no choice but to start from scratch. |  After! By smoothing the walls with sheets of plywood and painting them a contemporary purple shade and introducing woven furniture with pistachio cushions, the space is instantly transformed into a slick ultra modern living space. |
 The decking steps leading to the seating area are surrounded by aromatics and the plants act like a picture frame for the house when viewed from the sofa. |  By keeping the planting scheme to a minimum variety and colour palette, we made the space seem more harmonious yet filled with plants. |
 Even without the vibrant cushions, the sofa looks great. |  The addition of a small shed to the side of the garden allowed for any lost storage to be accommodated. |
