Granny Flat and Kitchen Roof
Customer reference for Above All Good Roofing as told to pickapro by Mrs Wittle from Santry, Dublin 9 on 10-Jan-2012
When was the work done?
Chris has done a couple of jobs for my husband and I. The first project was done in 2008 and it went so well that we brought them back for a second job in 2009.
What was involved?
The project in 2008 involved converting my husbands old workshop in the back garden into a granny flat apartment. It was a terrible mess and needed a lot of work including the removal of asbestos in the roof. Chris was there with the guys in their white suits to remove the asbestos and then built a beautiful, slanted tiled roof. The granny flat turned out exactly as we
wanted.
The second job in 2009 involved building a new lean-to roof for my kitchen at the back of the house. The old roof had become pretty bad and ugly looking and I wanted a change.
How did you choose Above All Good Roofing?
My husband and I wanted to find a local roofer and found Chris in the Golden Pages. We had been a little leery because my brother had some people in to do some work and he had endless bother.
Our experience was so different and I think we were very lucky. I have to say that Chris is one of the nicest guys to talk to and he really listens which is most important because so many of them don't.
Had you definite ideas in mind before you talked to Chris Dwyer?
My husband and I had a few ideas but it was mainly a collaborative effort. We kicked different ideas around with Chris and both sides talked and listened. To me it was a very agreeable way to come up with a plan.
How did the project run?
It couldn't have gone better. They were here every morning at 8:30 and left around 4:30 PM. Chris told us that the granny flat and roof would take one month and they completed the job right on schedule, I couldn't believe it. They were so nice, not a bother at all and the house went on just as if they weren't even there.
There was no excess or annoyance. When they were finished, my husband and I were just so pleased at how everything turned out, it was a beautiful job. It's nice to be able to say that about building work. Like I said, we were very lucky. When it came time to do the kitchen roof we never considered using anyone but Chris.
What was the biggest benefit to you of using Above All Good Roofing?
Their attitude. After some of the experiences I've had with tradesmen, dealing with Chris Dwyer was a joy.
What's your favourite part now?
All of it!
Would you recommend Above All Good Roofing to others?
Without a doubt, yes. In fact I would have no hesitation in telling anyone, "there is Chris Dwyers number, give Chris a ring, talk to him and after you talk to him you'll know who you want to do the job".
Any tips for other people?
Make sure that whoever you choose to carry out work, listens to you and you listen to them. Communication is so important and if it's not there, you may end up with something that wasn't what you wanted.
