"Ask how long they've been tiling and what kind of experience they have. If you're unsure, contact one of the big tiling suppliers - they'll be able to tell you if they've heard of that tiler or not." Fran Ronan

"The new trend is for marble and porcelain tiles. They look well, but remember that they do require special adhesives and special cutting machines. So, they will cost more to install than standard ceramic tiles." Fran Ronan

Tiling Likes and Dislikes

Do you have any tiling likes or dislikes?

"I don't like using wall tiles on the floor. Some customers want to do that so that the walls and floors blend in. But, wall tiles aren't really strong enough for the floor." Fran Ronan

"Just tiling a small area around the shower-end of a bath and leaving the rest. It's a saving in the short term, but splashes will ruin the wall in the long term." Fran Ronan
