Step by step photos showing Hotfoot installing a Flexel Ecofilm underfloor heating system. Ecofilm is an ultra-thin, carbon based heating film which can be installed directly under wood or laminate floors. It has no moving parts so it is maintenance free and easy to install. Hint! Hotfoot will install the Ecofilm heating set on this concrete floor. Before laying the Ecofilm, a grove is made on the floor to hold the thermostat probe. | First, Hotfoot lay a layer of thermal insulation. This reduces heat losses and ensures quicker heat-up times for the floor. It also has the benefit of sound deadening. |
The first length of Ecofilm is rolled out and trimmed to length. | Hotfoot continues to cover the floor area with Ecofilm. |
More ecofilm! | Hotfoot wires-up each roll of Ecofilm- and protects the connection with a white sealing cap. |
Hotfoot tapes over the sealing caps and cables so that they do not move out of position.
| When all electrical checks are complete, the heating system is connected to the mains supply and the thermostat is installed. |
